The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce's (LRCC) 98th Annual Dinner will feature a new home and a modified format, but the emphasis on recognizing the achievements of community leaders will remain central to the event. The Chamber's 98th Annual Dinner takes place on Wednesday, February 10 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. at MSU's Wharton Center for Performing Arts.
The new format which includes a strolling dinner as opposed to the more traditional sit down affair, was developed as a result of a member survey following the 2009 Annual Dinner. Feedback from that survey strongly supported an event that provided more opportunity for member networking, while maintaining the traditional awards presentations that have always been a focal point of the Annual Dinner.
Three of the business community's most prestigious awards will be handed out at the Chamber's Annual Dinner again this year including the ATHENA Award, Community Service Award and Outstanding Small Business Award. This year's ATHENA PowerLink winner will also be recognized.
The entertainment feature of the evening will be music and comedy provided by nationally recognized political satire group, The Capitol Steps. They began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Since they began, the Capitol Steps have recorded 29 albums, including their latest, Barackin' Around the Christmas Tree and Obama Mia!. They've been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials.
Tickets prices are $85 individual, $160 couple and $630 for a corporate package of eight. Registration for the LRCC 98th Annual Dinner can be completed by calling Sarah Smith at 517-853-6457 or events@lansingchamber.org
